Leah Justine may be a fresh face in country music, but don’t let that fool you. This sassy, soulful singer is a force to be reckoned with and is quickly making a name for herself in the world of country music. With her commercial fusion of 90s country and southern rock, Leah’s dynamic vocals and storytelling sensibilities deliver musicianship and a great time to audiences around the world.
Born and raised in Tacoma, WA, Leah has always had a passion for country music and performing. She grew up listening to Hank William Jr., Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard songs with her dad, and dancing along to records by Patsy Cline, Garth Brooks, LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, and Alan Jackson. It was country music’s colourful stories and powerful instrumentals that inspired Leah to perform at a young age.
Leah’s childhood was filled with musical theatre performances, and she continued singing and acting in regional playhouses after college. As her musical theatre career gained momentum, however, her heart held on to her dream of singing country music. So naturally, when local country band Five Dollar Fine invited her to be their lead singer, she accepted the offer.
Leah sang lead for Five Dollar Fine for a few years touring regionally, and then she branched out as a solo act. By 2018, she signed a distribution deal with Bristol Records and Perry Music Group. Leah is a powerhouse performer known for her engaging and energetic live shows.
Her self-titled debut album Leah Justine was recorded at The Groove House Recording Studio in Friendsville, TN. The album is a hard hitting compilation of stories with attitude and instrumentation from some of Leah’s favourite musicians, including fiddler Sid Walker and guitarist/pianist Steve Rutledge. With playful tracks like “Cornbread,” “Quicksand,” and “If Momma Only Knew,” Leah is determined to leave her listeners with smiles on their faces.
